introduction

ibWebAdmin is a web frontend for the Firebird and InterBase database server. It makes the attempt to support all features which Firebird and SQL are offering. Even if this goal is unattainable, quite a few steps have already been done. By now ibWebAdmin has the basic functions for creating, deleting, modifying databases, tables, generators, triggers and domains. It lets you import, export, enter, edit, delete, query, browse your data. And some more ...

To execute this program you need, beside the Firebird or InterBase database server, an apache webserver with php support.

ibWebAdmin 1.0.1 released

posted Sun, 12/03/2006

Some time has passed since 1.0. But there wasn't any bugreports or bugfixes in the meantime, so take this as a good sign. Now I got a czech translation file from pestasoft, which I want to bring to public. And with 1.0.1 you can connect to Firebird 2.

Have fun!

project website relaunched

After searching around without beeing able to find a cms that matches my needs I decided to implement my own firebird-driven cms. Ok, at least it is 300 lines of php and more some kind of a css (content storing system) which leaves the managing to ibWebAdmin...

I'm using Savant3 for templates and pear's Cache_Lite for caching. Both are great packages, highly recommended for effective php coding.

How do you like the new design? Oh, sorry, the comments system is still on the todo list :-)

don't let you fool

A big Thank You to the people from the FlameRobin project! By mentioning ibWebAdmin on April Fool's Day in the top message of their homepage, they brought a lot of attention and visitors to this site.

Just for clarification: ibWebAdmin is for webbased administration and not thought as a replacement for all those fancy desktop tools. (Which didn't mean, that it couldn't be a replacement, if I just would have enough time for development. :^)
